Does anyone know an average lifespan for a saltwater "I live in a happy home" fish?  I've noticed that my firefish are way bigger than any I see in stores or displays.  I'm kind of wondering if they were somewhat ancient when I got them...or maybe they do steroids when I'm not looking...

Some fish will live months, whilst others can out live us.  Depends on the species and the care.  For instance, a Scopas tang can live 10-15 years in captivity in a well maintained, spacious home.  Put that same tang in say a 44 gal tank, and 2-3 years is all you will get.   Huh?

I don't have nearly as many posts as shown.  I am merely an administrator of a forum that just about any old Joe (no offense to Joe) can create.  I am just trying to show the futility of relying on a post counts for forum credibility.  Many other forums have people with 20 million worthless posts to increase their count, through this their credibility.  This is detritus and needs a cleanup crew.
